Day 4 in LA...

After getting only 3 hours of sleep and dragging myself out of bed, we finally arrived at the pre-telecast award show where Phoenix WON BEST ALTERNATIVE ALBUM!

The White and the Gentry.

The pre-telecast show was so strange because essentially all of the rap and hip hop awards were presented alongside things like "best spoken word children's album." Many things were presented that should have been part of the televised ceremony.

I also had a lovely little run-in with Taylor Swift, one of the few "big names" that was actually humble enough to come to the pre-telecast awards.

David Guetta also won, but he was a little out of it...and he left shortly after accepting. lol.

Pre-win group shot.

Chag, Sophia, and Thomas pre-win.

Strange red carpet vibes. They were interviewed by Snooki from Jersey Shore, which was probably the most hilarious video I have seen from the Grammys. After asking if there are "guidos" in France, they essentially call her trashy in French and she thinks it is a compliment.

Robin with Franc, the swordfish that lives in his pocket.

Christian and Deck freaking out before the award.

Sorry this photo is a bit blurry, I was really excited and couldn't keep my hand still. When the time finally came for the best alternative album award we were all so nervous. Just when Tia (the bad ass presenter from Waynes World) read out "Wolfgang..." I had a brief panic moment where I thought they didn't win. But they did.

So happy and proud of everyone.

Post-win joy!!!

The certificate! Branco said that they take the grammy away from you after you win it, which I found a little strange. I am pretty sure that they recycle the same one...

We headed straight over to the telecast show. Worst laws in LA ever! The entire show was dry and there were no ins and outs!

Gaga's performance with Elton John was pretty epic, as was Beyonce's performance. Her voice is honestly out of this world. She almost sounds better live than she does on her record.

I have to say that some of the presenters/performers seemed a bit out of place (re. Bon Jovi?) and best new artist going to the Zac Brown Band was a little bit odd. I think MGMT should have won...

Also, the MJ tribute sucked. The 3D was not 3D at all. Very disappointing. I was expecting something out of this world :(

Halfway through Sabina, Laurence and I snuck away to steal a drink and a smoke and found ourselves at the private after party on the rooftop which had not yet opened.

After nearly getting kicked out of the show for a) smoking, b) ordering drinks from a bar that was not yet open, and c) stealing hand fulls of shrimp cocktail as we were being ushered out, we left the award show early and headed to the Beverly Hills hotel to celebrate.

Oysters and champagne! Neil Young came over to congratulate them...words cannot express how intense that must have been for the boys.

Ron Jeremy was perving in the corner while we were eating, and Britney Spears was apparently too socially awkward to be in a hotel with actual people.

Cedric and Matt.

The chocolate grammy. Thomas ate the grammy first.

Franc.

After a heartfelt speech from Daniel Glass, we headed to the Sony party and then to the Kings of Leon party.
I had a major internal freak out when Beyonce and Jay-Z showed up to the Sony party. The room was so small (and they were a lot smaller in person as well!) and I accidentally bumped into her while I was grabbing a glass of champagne. Needless to say we had a little chat and then I had to run away because I thought I was going to pee my pants.

Kings of Leon party...

Lindsay Lohan showed up to Dj like 15minutes before the club closed which was pretty stupid.

We tried to go to In & Out burger on the way home but it was closed :(

At the end of the night we all had to say goodbye, as Phoenix had to get on the bus to leave for Arizona.

Best weekend ever.

Congrats again to everyone involved.

Miss y'all.

xx
